Permit Technician

ITC Service Group (“ITC”), is seeking an experienced Permit Technician in Clackamas, Oregon.  The Permit Technician will work closely with project management to create permit acquisition schedules that align with project construction schedules in multiple municipalities and will be responsible for delivering completed permit applications and fees to various municipal Public Works or business license departments to secure construction and right-of-way encroachment permits. The ideal candidate will have experience working on utility plans and have knowledge of construction standards and municipal ordinances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Interface with various municipal building and roadway departments to complete permit application requests, coordinate work inspections, and secure project completion approvals
  • Prepare purchase order and check requests for permit fees associated with the project
  • Track and manage permits for multiple projects concurrently
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with municipalities and other permitting entities
  • Perform independent permit walk-outs
  • Perform site visits and field meetings with inspectors and construction crews as required

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • All candidates are subject to a mandatory pre-employment background check, employment and education verification, drug screen, physical exam, and must possess and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred

  • Three (3) or more years practical experience working as a Permitting Coordinator
  • Experience or knowledge of State, Highway Department & Municipal requirements for Telecommunications construction permitting processes

Education and/or Certifications

  • High School Diploma
