Network Installer- Level 4 (Ciena, Calix, Cisco)

ITC Service Group (“ITC”), is seeking an experienced Network Installer- Level 4 in Houston, TX. The Network Installer- Level 4 will be exposed to all aspects of the business. This Installer will have exceptional ability in the telephony that is outside the general parameters of installation and technical expertise. In charge of subordinates with a lower level index. Responsible for the start and completion of each project must result in a quality, on time, profitable product that is presented to our customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Manage inventory of assigned tools.
  • Ensure that all assigned tools are current on calibration.
  • Submit ECR or Red Line for any change that would alter the work items, assignments, and/or specifications.
  • Writing and presenting a method of procedure for our customers' approval.
  • Staging all the equipment and inventorying material for accuracy.
  • Assigning specific tasks to subordinates and monitoring their work ethics for efficiency, quality, and safety. Supervise all starts, breaks, and quitting time.
  • Responsible for the accuracy in the installation of each and all types of equipment installed.
  • Tests for completeness of wiring to ensure it is installed correctly.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all the final paperwork required and turned over to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Completes quality assurance procedure and check the final product for errors.
  • Interfaces with customer contacts on projects and work orders.
  • Interfaces with the end user (contact person) and coordinates with other vendors for each project when required by the customer.
  • Provides technical support for customer contacts and Technicians on request.
  • Attends project planning and progress meetings with or without the customer contacts assigned.
  • Understands, adheres to, and promotes the Environmental, Health & Safety policies; ensure the safety, quality, and efficiencies of our crew.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • All candidates are subject to a mandatory pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical exam, and must possess and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.


  • Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience or documented equivalent proficiency.
  • Experience with the following architectures: ROADM / ULH, NGPON 2, MSE.
  • Experience installing the following equipment: Ciena, Cisco, Calix, Adtran, and Juniper.
  • Experience working in a central office environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations—listens and gets clarification.
  • Treats people with respect; keeps commitments works with integrity and ethically and upholds organizational values.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.
  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views, gives and welcomes feedback, and supports others’ efforts to succeed.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required throughout employment.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office and Vendor Specific Software. Good vision and hearing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Education and/or Certifications

  • High School Diploma

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, outdoor weather conditions, and a normal office environment.
  • There is a moderate noise level.
  • Up to 100% travel, up to 90% overnight travel depending upon area.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours) stands, reaches with hands and arms, grasps with hands, talks, hears, and sees colors.
  • Frequently (3-6 hours) walks, repetitive use of hands, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, bends, twists, pushes, or pulls.
  • Frequently lifts up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to distinguish various color variations.
  • Ability to work in tight surroundings and elevated levels.
