ITC Service Group (“ITC”), is seeking an experienced Installer Level 3 in Houston, TX.  The Installer Level 3 should be able to perform additions and removals of common telecom equipment and telecom hardware. The installer should also be able to add or remove cable and connections on non-working equipment without supervision. In addition, the installer should be qualified to lead both verification testing and continuity testing as well as be able to analyze, mark, correct, and resolve specifications as well as problems with drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Capable of performing additions, removals and modifications on working equipment and circuits
  • Oversees volatile work activities (MOP work)
  • Performs power transition work
  • Receives and accounts for equipment/material necessary to do the job.
  • Performs basic installation tasks such as mounting of equipment, cable rack plus fiber protection systems, and running cable
  • Uses universal wiring color code and butts, strips and makes wiring terminations of various size wire including switchboard and coax
  • Researches the applicable standards (TP/BPS/ Other customer documentation) to ensure added equipment is installed within the expected level of quality
  • Familiarity with customer installation and quality standards including IP72202
  • Works with customers on equipment testing and turn up; Resolves job problems with clients
  • Trains entry level installers
  • Acts as in charge person when installation supervisors are not present
  • Completes job- related paperwork
  • Proficient at all labeling and stenciling requirements for Central Office equipment
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Meets productivity standards and strives to increase productivity without sacrificing quality and safety.
  • Observes safety procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, and meets commitments.


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
  • High School (GED)
  • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience or documented equivalent proficiency
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required throughout employment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide three-digit numbers.
  • All candidates are subject to a mandatory pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical exam, and must possess and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

  • Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, outdoor weather conditions, and a normal office environment.
  • There is a moderate noise level.
  • Up to 100% travel, up to 90% overnight travel depending upon area.
  • Constantly (6-8 hours) stands, reaches with hands and arms, grasps with hands, talks, hears, and sees colors.
  • Frequently (3-6 hours) walks, repetitive use of hands, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, bends, twists, pushes, or pulls.
  • Frequently lifts up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to distinguish various color variations
  • Ability to work in tight surroundings and elevated levels.
